Eating one magnet is OK, but more than one is extremely dangerous. For folks who are wondering what happens is one magnet gets ahead of the other, and gets around the bend of a loop of bowel. Then the magnets pass close enough to attach to each other, unfortunately with the small bowel walls in the way. This cuts off blood supply to those small areas. Now the small bowel consumes a lot of oxygen so those local areas of the bowel wall become ischemic (lacking oxygen) and necrose (die) leaving holes in the bowel wall (that’s bad) allowing the stuff inside your bowel to get outside your bowel (very bad). My wife often has to remove these in cats and dogs as well…

Thankfully we caught it soon enough that there was little to no damage. He somehow got a hold of them without anyone knowing so it was quite the shock when that showed up on the X-ray.
