Making mixed medium art

Just got back from a trip to the Pequot Library in Westport, CT to drop off two pieces of art that were accepted at a juried art show. You can see the two mixed medium art works at https://e.givesmart.com/events/em7/i/_All/#item8w47 where item 175 is titled “Cube of Poetry” and item 176 is named “Ferris Haiku”. If you look at the hi-res images after selecting item 175, you’ll see that the cube can be opened revealing Braille on each of the inner faces of the cube for Braille readers so they can also experience reading the lines of poetry. Both pieces of art were made using a Glowforge 3D laser cutter set up in my home office.

Impressive. Juried art shows are always better than craft shows, so congratulations on getting your piece accepted. Good Luck!

Congratulations. Thanks for sharing your good news and artwork.

Quick follow-up to the art show results - my piece named Ferris Haiku won Best In Show and first Place in the Pequot Library Ex Libris art show last Friday. Pictures of the show can be seen at

Congratulations! You are obviously deserving of these awards. Can’t wait to see what you do next.

That’s fantastic. That piece is very unique, you should be extremely proud.

Thanks, this is all a new venture for me so let’s see where this goes.
