My son had a school project about New Zealand. That was another opportunity to use the Glowforge. Out of a piece of veg tanned leather I made those Maori fish hooks to give away to his schoolmates. It was my first time to work on leather and i must say it is a bit challenging as you have to avoid burnouts.

You’re really on a roll, aren’t you? Some really nice projects. I like the fish hooks.
Masking both sides of the leather should help with the char problem. And you can always wash it off in water or with alcohol.
