Marking Zippo Lighters- it works!

Well I’m actually surprised this worked, but I had to give it a shot. Not exactly sure on the metal here, wikipedia says coated brass but I’m not sure, non-magnetic though. Settings used cut 100/Full/3 passes. Zippo is .4985 in thick. I scrubbed the heck out of it and it is not going anywhere, using my fingernail I can just feel a ridge.

yeah, carried one around for a few decades and the corners all got brassy looking as the chrome wore off.

I wasn’t sure, I don’t smoke and don’t normally carry a Zippo at all, but I recently was given quite a few new-in-the-box ones and have been trying to figure out what to do with them.

hmm… So I guess this is chrome coated then? I had been figuring stainless steel.

Be somewhat careful, I think chrome is reflective to co2 lasers and could theoretically bounce back and damage your machine. Don’t necessarily take my word for it but something to consider.

What’s the difference between a hippo and a Zippo?

One’s really heavy and the other’s a little lighter.

(Sorry, can’t resist a dad joke)
