Masking tape recommendations please

Hello, I am in need of a masking tape brand recommendation, preferably sold on amazon or some other website with quick free and or reasonable shipping. I have been using Tape Man Blue brand purchase from amazon but last few rolls I have ordered have had issues. The tape when pulling off of the roll is pulling part of the backing of the tape under it leaving you with spots that won’t stick down. I have returned and gotten new only to have it be the same. Any recommendations? Thank you.

Ugh - quality control issues on what was a good brand is always a pain :frowning:

Off Amazon I’ve used this Greenstar transfer tape and it’s been just fine.

There’s also this lovely thread-of-threads with a bunch of recommendations (including mine above) but also for buying in closer to bulk.

That is the same stuff I use. Only bought it once, still have a partial roll.

The first one I picked up was junk, but this is the most recent one and it works great.

Thank you. That is the brand that I was using and it has been fine. I have used several rolls. The last few that have come in have had an issue.

I keep mine in a downstairs half-bathroom where the HVAC maintains a more stable temperature than the spot where my GF resides. That made a difference.

Sounds like the manufacturer may have cheaped out on that HVAC controlled storage this last time! I wonder if it got stuck on a ship somewhere…

I’ve been dealing with a wide range of materials for years. Things like epoxy resins and adhesive films/tapes need specific conditions like temp and humidity. Not saying I’m some expert, but I did find I got better results when I started paying attention to that.
