A while back, I made a bunch of cork coasters for a client and had enough scrap material left-over that I wanted to re-purpose. The result is/was a “Memory” game:
For this design, I opted to create a parametric design that lets the user choose the tile size and the emojis themselves for complete design control. Two immediate benefits of using cork:
It’s soft and pliable, and,
With a bit of creativity, the game could also be played in a pool.
Consider me old-fashioned but I’d rather see kids sharpening their mental acuity on games like this vs. “screen time.”

Oh nice, i didn’t think of cork. I’ve been making memory games for my young English-learner students. They love them. I put the written word on one card, and the photo on another card. Leftover cork sounds like a light, but more durable paper alternative.
