My 8th graders made boxes with the Glowforge in a recent project. The actual box file came from Makercase.com. Some students designed their own cover pieces in Adobe Illustrator while others chose to use files from thenounproject.com. I think they came out OK. I will try it again with another class next year and see how we can improve them.

Yes, Adobe Illustrator was a lot for some of them, particularly since they were trying to make something in one or two class periods. TheNounProject.com was a great addition, although it seems a bit like cheating!

Nothing is cheating as long as they are learning how to put things together and make programs interact with each other! They all did a great job!
