What a wonderful idea, brilliantly executed! You could extend that idea to lots of things—recipes tried, sheet music played, etc.
Great idea!! Nice work!
Meals I have eaten!
I love this idea too!
I don’t think I could do a miniature small enough to hold all the meals I’ve eaten! But I could do one with things I make from scratch, with titles like, “Making Mayo,” “The Art of Making Butter,” “The Dirt On Making Your Own Laundry Soap,” etc.
I have started using my own laundry soap, and it actually works better than Tide or any others I’ve used. I use vinegar instead of fabric softener (it does NOT leave any vinegar smell) and my clothes are perfectly soft and static-free, even when I hang them on the clothesline, and hydrogen peroxide instead of bleach. Not only are they so much cheaper than brand-names, they are much better for our septic tank. Next on the list to switch is our dishwashing tabs.
I have been using vinegar for several years now and really like it. I read somewhere that it will end up destroying some of the tubing in your washer. Do you know if there is any validity in that? I typically only use it with my bedding and in the dog’s wash so not every load.
I’ve been using it for more than a decade in every load and I’ve not seen any damage to the machines.
Ooh, I gotta give that a try!
Yeah, do try it. I think it works better, plus every time I used bleach I had to do an extra rinse to get the smell out, even though I didn’t use very much. No smell with the hydrogen peroxide and my whites come out just as clean. Everything is coming out cleaner with the homemade stuff.
@Pearl, I hadn’t seen anything about hose damage when we did our research. And considering that vinegar is something used in cooking and making salad dressings, etc., if it doesn’t affect your body, why would it affect a plastic tube? We even add it to our goat and chicken waters (although we give them apple cider vinegar).
We use apple cider vinegar as a creme rinse, mixed with water and rosemary and lavender essential oils. Not only is it great for detangling, but my hair is silky smooth. And it makes it grow much faster too!
Yep, think I’m going to have to make a miniature bookcase with little books for all I make homemade!
Great! Thanks for that information. Makes me feel much better.
Yes!
