This was just delivered to the new owner a couple of days ago. the tree of life design is not mine, it was provided by the person who commissioned it, but i think the engrave turned out really well.
That is a great result! The engrave seems deep and uniform. I bet the client is really happy with how it turned out.
i was a little worried about the root area while it was engraving, it looked like it was engraving too deep, but it looked fine after unmasking.
Stunning!
I realize I never have concern of how an engraving will turn out … with a guitar … I might have some anxiety!
That engraving is special. Looks fantastic.
Just WOW… that looks terrific
gonna go back and sit in my corner with some luggage tags. LOL
That’s beautiful ![]()
I wish I could see it in a decade after so many hours of playing, I bet the wear patterns across the engraving will look very cool!
That came out fantastic! Your client must be excited.
Stunning! Well done
The shape of the engraving design that you chose really goes well with the shape of your guitar too. ![]()
that is truly amazing. I’ll bet the owner is so impressed!!
Very nice!!
Definitely a work that anyone would be proud to own! Really nice detail. Something to which I hope to aspire.
Wow, really nice results. That tree looks positively ancient…
Yes, you’ve really dialed in the perfect settings—this one is gorgeous (as the all are)!
Style and craftsmanship = Beautiful outcome.
Congratulations @shop!
Amazing work!
This is so beautiful! Do you make your own bodies or did you mask off the bridge or take it off? I’ve seen where you can buy body blanks but IDK how to put on the rest of the guitar.
He partners with a guitar builder. He’s got a bunch of posts with different ones, totally worth searching and checking out!
it starts with just the body, usually prefinished (whether we buy it with the finish, finish it ourselves, or send it to an autobody shop to paint). then my partner builds it after i finish the engrave. adds the hardware (tuners, bridge, pickups, all the wiring) and the neck, then does the setup (intoning, string height, etc.).
i’m sure there are videos out there for each stage if you wanted to build one yourself. and a guitar shop can do the setup for you if that’s beyond your comfort zone. usually costs in the ballpark of $75-100 for someone who really knows what they’re doing.
