Most recent guitars

So… a few guitars went out the door in the last few weeks.

First up, a bass guitar. roughly similar to the last one we did, but roses and not barbed wire.

Next up: a variation of the leopard skin guitars we did for Tracii Guns to sell at LA Guns shows on their last tour. This one a “white” leopard for Jack Frost (another heavy metal guitarist, one of the original founders of seven witches). He wanted it black on the back and white on the front, so kind of like a black and white cookie. we started with a black guitar and had an auto body shop paint the front half after masking it. then engraved.

last, but not least, the cheshire cat. this one has glow in the dark eyes and teeth painted in.

Beautiful work. My favorite is the rose vine but all of them are outstanding.

I’m glad “we’re all mad here” made it on the cat guitar!

All of them are stunning.

They’re all amazing, but I love the blue with the roses. It’s gorgeous!

Great work. A feast for the eyes in addition to music to our ears.

They’re all cool but that Cheshire Cat is jaw dropping!
Can you share who that’s going to? I’d love to see it in action!!

i don’t think i’ve seen any videos of her playing it, just sharing pics when she got it. it’s a heavy metal singer in minneapolis, i think. she bought one of the tracii guns leopard skin guitars and then wanted this one when it was done.

do it! i’d love to see what you come up with.

These are great! I especially love the white leopard. When you engraved that one, were you removing the white auto body paint and letting the original black paint show through, or was it burning into the wood beneath?

into the wood. then, while still masked, we daub a watered down black acrylic paint in with a rag to “blacken” the engrave completely. it would be really difficult to consistently get through the one layer of paint and keep the black layer clean.

The Cheshire Cat made me grin, too!
