Mothers Day is coming

My wife asked me to engrave a message on the back of an amber crystal cross for the twins’ godmother as a Mothers Day gift.

The horizontal portion is only 1/4" tall by 3/4" wide, and the lower portion of the vertical is only 1/4" wide by 1/2" tall so there was no room for an alignment error. Compounding the complexity of this “simple” project was the fact that the front of the crystal was not flat so I needed to prop it up, as level and still as possible. 6 magnets to the rescue.

I set the depth, and got everything aligned in the GFUI, set the speed to 350, the power to full and LPI to 270. And then draped a wet toilet tissue over the crystal, flattened it out, closed the lid back and printed. Less than 2 minutes later, a very satisfying result.
