My first 3D shadow box!

So I had zero idea how to make this thing. Just had an idea and some images. Did some trial and error in Illustrator and eventually came up with this. It’s 4x6" and is 6 layers of medium draft board. I didn’t want to use anything nicer since it was the first one and I didn’t think it would turn out, so here it is. My very first shadow box! Hope you like it. Oh, I have decided NOT to paint the DB, I like the way it looks as is

Clearly your trial and error is ahead of the curve! That’s lovely

Looks great! Sometimes the best stuff comes from trial and error!

Well thank you. My wife is already requesting one with a Harry Potter theme lol

Thanks! Yes, I agree. When I’m working on a new woodworking idea (yeah, I still do that too lol) there is a lot of trial and error. Sometimes it works, sometimes…you have a bonfire haha

Thank you! I may do it again and paint it, not sure yet.

I think I’m getting the idea of how to go about designing them…going to try another design before too long and see how that goes as well**

Have in mind to write up a tutorial for setting up and designing a shadow box in Inkscape - just haven’t gotten to it yet. You seem to have done just fine!
