Need help with a motor and electronic stuff!

This is where my thoughts went. Keep it simple. The ones in the link, draw less than an amp so a simple wall wart type power supply with 5 , 9 or 12 volts would work, No arduino or relay required.

You would only need those things if you wanted sensors or something to make it interactive, but if the logic is when plugged move, then that does not require anything other than a switch.

Agree if one wanted sensors an arduino would be a good add but then a simple motor like this would not be possible. Original spec wanted it to spin and possibly have a knob to control the speed. A rheostat on the power feed might be able to do that without the arduino.
