Neon Sign Effect

Used a UV printer on plywood. I printed a clear piece of acrylic a very light pink and cut and laid over print (bright white underneath). It looks best without any glare but I provided photos of both to show perspective.

Oh yes! The pink “shadow” really sells the neon light effect

Wow!!!

Really cool! Great job!

That is spot on! Nice!

My friend said I should look into buying one…then I looked…and decided I could buy another car. That ended the rabbit hole for me quick.

Haha, yes I did some research yesterday and decided I wouldn’t be able to use it as much as necessary to prevent the ink from drying out. They do have some around the $3000 dollar mark but apparently maintenance is an ongoing thing unless they are in constant use. Too bad.

you found one for 3k? The cheapest one I found was 15k. Told my friend I’ll stick with sublimation and SHE can buy a UV printer.

Yeah, totally Chinese made. Apparently the program it comes with is a rip off that contains a virus as well. Some people have made them work though.
