Hi,
I have been trying to use Inkscape and some other google searches for advice on this, but I can’t seem to get the settings right to reproduce this sign I saw in Hawaii. It had a lot of character. Any advice on how to convert this into something the glowforge can use to basically just engrave the letters.

Welcome, to engrave a sign like this Inkscape is the wrong type of program, its for vectors. You want to use a raster program like Photoshop, Gimp or Procreate. Start by converting the image to black and white and then adjust the contrast until you like the look. Darker/blacks engrave more, lighter/whites don’t.
OH, that makes a lot more sense! I’m guessing that I can isolate the background from the lettering when I use those.
