There has recently been introduced a new version of Blender* (version 2.8) and it looks like a huge improvement over the older versions. If you tried it in the past and gave it up due to complexity, you might want to give it another go.

The last time they did that there were so many folk that had struggled to come up to speed on the older version and not wanting to restart that they forked it.
