After getting new WiFi I needed to relink my machines, and rather than using the browser it directed me to download an app.
The app is so much better!
Despite my PC being a couple of rooms away, both machines hooked right up! I did have to manually reconnect to my WiFi, but then I got the coveted confetti

I think the only (kind of) downside is that the app doesn’t actually install so Windows can’t find it. I’ve put the .exe in my Glowforge folder, but it might be years before I have to do it again so I’ll probably end up re-downloading it

Yeah I had mixed experience with it. It worked but installing and finding it felt a little nonstandard and janky.
As I recall I had to restart it to get it to work it just hung up on the first try.
Idk it’s been a while.

It’s on version 0.7.5 so I presume there have been some updates.

I find an app pointless and was pleased to find it wasn’t necessary to set up my machine (the second) both when I received it in '23, then when I moved it here to my ex’s. Used my phone both times.
I shouldn’t have to install anything to do a one-time (ok, in my case, two-time) wifi configuration. Spend the development time elsewhere…

For me that’s part of the joy - I could use my phone, but in my prior experience it didn’t work that well - so I used the app which worked fabulously.
Your experience with the phone went swimmingly so you get to use that instead
