Nonlaser things that I think GFers will find interesting

If Scotty isn’t available, I’d be happy to do it.

Great technology, but what a lot of work to build that desk to hide everything. And I can imagine the cost of the wireless unit!

i guess it just depends on how cool and useful you think it is.

i actually shared it w/the model shop guys at work and they’re thinking about trying to do something with it. like a smaller table that has a lazy susan built into it and then the power and when you set a building model onto the table, the lights automatically come on.

Thanx for posting this. While the wireless power is cool, I found a lot of other things in the video quite inspiring such as using the laptop board as a desktop substitute.

Wireless charging is pretty inefficient so that was my first concern. This is a cool concept but I wonder about the waste heat.

After you watch this, go to the Secret Bookcase video!

Very cool, but man I have a really bad case of workshop envy!

Huh. Someone should get inspired and make something based on this.

Volunteers? @shogun, it’s ya boi Hokusai.

Well, this is not a non-laser thing… but… interesting! the rotary function especially.

Looks like some of those would make pretty cool polyhedra too!

This one got an entire post of its own!

Lol yeah I did that because it was a laser and also because not everyone follows this thread but most people see new topics.

Ahh, that makes sense! I kinda suspected it was already shared but I didn’t see that! Thanks for the heads up.

That’s pretty cool. I dunno about having lye in my workflow but cool nonetheless.
