Now, every catalog design is something personal

We’ve made it easier for you to personalize designs from the Catalog. An increasing number of catalog designs allow you to easily change the included text with Premium text and fonts – whether you’re changing a name. for a gift, updating a date for a memento, or customizing the included message to something more personal for a loved one.

In the Catalog, look for any Catalog design labeled “Editable Text”. Or you can see which designs can be directly edited here, starting with the designs in the Holiday Gift Guide. (We’ll be adding more as they are available, so check back often!)

When you open that design, any text that can be personalized is now editable directly with the Premium Text Tool, without needing to delete or add new text.

Great addition to add

What a great development - is this something catalog designers can design for or only available for GF official designs?

Awesome to hear that you like this update! Yes, catalog designers will be able to create designs with editable text. You can create your design with the text that is available in our app (as opposed to using software). An email will be going out to designers this week with additional details, so once you get all of those details and get all set up, you can submit your new designs. Thanks!

This is so cool!

Is it possible to go back and add this to previously submitted designs?

Hi Bill! If you would like to revise a published design to contain editable text, you will need to resubmit the design through the app. Just add “[Resub-Editable Text]” to the title so we know to replace the old version. We’ll send out an email when everything is ready for designers to resubmit, so look out for that soon!

Thanks!

Is this a benefit for all plan purchasers even if they do not subscribe to Premium? Or is it just a shortcut to Premium features, for Premium users?

This new feature is for Premium subscribers.

FWIW, IMHO it might encourage more sales if these customizations were supported even for non-Premium purchasers. But maybe most of us non-Premium people are familiar with the tools needed to do it ourselves, I don’t know.

Technically nothing would be changing for non-Premium. Of course you can replace the text, you’ve always been able to - but you have to move the old one off to the side (or ignore it) and then put what you want in its place. The only difference here is now Premium subscribers can click onto the old text and type in what they want.

I get it, just saying that if easy text customization was also offered to non-Premium people, they might sell more of these things.

Good suggestion for future features and updates. I’ll send this along to the Product team.
