This last excerpt made me think…can you or anyone even IMAGINE what’s going to happen here when the first person actually receives his/her Glowforge? Or even when the first person just gets their email asking them for their shipping address? Talk about eruptive celebrations!
Sounds like you were way advanced in jewelry making over what we ever were. Minimal; lost wax, carving tools, a Dremel for ‘cleaning up’ a casting. I’m sure primitive to what you’ve done. But we had a marvelous time of it…and that’s what really counted.
It really is special to manifest an idea into three dimentional reality - especially when it turns out even better than you had envisioned, isn’t it?
Well, it’s a personality disorder of mine, when inspired, I persue with rabbid enthusiasm, which will be an accurate description of what’s going to “errupt” around here as soon as someone announces they have been queried for their shipping address…
The forum will light up with new direction - and dan can get us off his back. I know the transition will be a high point for him and the entire team to watch their efforts bloom in the creative directions we take their forge.
I also expect a serious celebration to break out in a certain Seattle business as the pre orders are satisfied, and Glowforge turns the page to begin the next chapter in a remarkable story.
“In commemoration of this glorious event All units shall ship with a complementary bottle of wine or extra material as per request” man, I wish. but then the GF team would have a surplus of wine 'cause we would all go for the extra material
My personality is very similar. I have a tendency to go full-bore on something either until I master it or until I completely burn out, then I move to the next thing. I always wished I was really, really good at one thing…instead of pretty good at many things. But then again, that’s just my personality. If nothing else, I have a varied creative life!
If they ship with a Box O’ Wine, then you get wine and extra material!
Lasers and wine, I dunno… I sport a few scars from mixing power tools and beer.
good point
Also a good point - I sport enough with out mixing tools and alcohol lol
“What are you doing, Dave?” I couldn’t resist.
I wish I could get a box of wine shipped to me but sadly it’s illegal in Oklahoma…
what about grape juice that just took too long to get there?
