I nearly had a heart attack when you listed your taxes and duties, even though you’re in the Netherlands and not France, then I realized you bought a Pro. Whew.

The lastest delay to Australia should work out to be an expensive one for us.
On July 30 GST (goods and services tax) of 10% will be applied to all overseas purchases… even ones ordered nearly 3 years previously

Maar wat ik begrijp enkel contant afrekenen?
Normaal gesproken zou je via UPS mychoice een factuur vooruit krijgen over de mail. Dat was voor mij rede genoeg om me daar te registreren, maar dat was allemaal tevergeefs. Soms wil er nog wel eens een eenmalige SEPA machtiging bij zitten waardoor je niet contant hoeft af te rekenen, helaas alleen het geval bij de proofgrade materialen. De machine zelf moest contant en gepast afgerekend worden. 3x over gebeld, maar mocht allemaal niet baten.
Heel veel succes en wellicht een idee om een Glowforge whatsapp groep te starten met de Nederlanders? Ik ben door 2 personen benaderd en ik ben dan 3. Makkelijke manier om snel technische kennis te delen.

Whatsapp groepje is prima, kunnen via pm wel nummers uitwisselen.
Wellicht dat de anderen nog goede acryl platen leveranciers weten.

My glowforge is the pro version - looking on the glowforge site they have assigned a value of 6,900. That will up the gaxes significantly - this makes this an 8k device - which is not something I intended when I purchased 2 years ago while living in Florida. Moved to Europe nearly 1 year and 9 months later - I definately would not have purchased had I known it was going to be a near 10k investment.
Did you get the pre-order discount? If so it should be less than that. The invoice with the shipping should be what you actually paid, not what it costs now.
I did get the pre-order discounnt. However, the price I paid is not reflected on the shipping page - in fact there is 1000 charged for the air filter. In fact - everything on that page seems incorrect and either inflated on the product side or nnot accurate on shipping. The shipping shows $99 - when I paid nearly 900. Something is wrong - and of course mails to support now take days to be answered.

Yes your subtotal is $2000 more than it it should be. $7000 + $1000 - $4000 = $4000, not $6000.
For some reason my discount is $4005 so my subtotal is $3995.
Looks like your shipping is still for the US.
Great - maybe support will someday answer me and fix this - because the 2000 mistake will cost me dearly in extra import taxes. The ‘free’ proofgrade materials they sent just cost me $80 in taxes - 56 Euro
So - I’ve contacted support again - this the third time since last Thursday. I am sure they will respond - but it does appear I was charged 2x on shipping vs. others. I’m assuming Darkhorse purchased a pro unit - as I did. The math on my purchase page is completely wrong - as others have pointed out - and I’m still not that happy that a ‘free’ gift for waiting 2 years on my device cost me nearly 75-80 usd. That could have been resolved by reducing the fee associated with the ‘free’. I’m not upset, yet, - but I would like to understand why I’m being charged more than others.
Since time is of the essence here with an impending delivery impacted by the error and substantial import costs involved, I’d send an email to @Rita and copy @dan. Unfortunately Support puts you into a queue that doesn’t handle time-sensitive issues well. The only escalation possibly available is direct email.

I ordered my Glowforge Pro on Monday and it came on Friday to the UK with a whopping £1275 import charge. Ouch!!

Ik ben ook altijd wel geinteresseerd naar leuke materialen. Gebruik nu veel berken multiplex , maar zou veel liever bijvoorbeeld het maple hardwood wat bij de gratis materialen set zat gebruiken, maar is echt nergens voor een schappelijke prijs te vinden. Nadeel van multiplex vind ikd at wanneer je de maskingtape weghaalt t makkelijker splintert en niet meer mooi glad is.
