Old engravings when I first started using the glowforge, and taught myself how to use it. It took me 3 months of finding different settings to get it right for wood . And two months for different materials settings .
Welcome to the forum.
It is obvious that your patience and diligence were well rewarded with fantastic results. Do you find that the settings are still working as well or have the variations in materials and perhaps the degradation of the laser tube changed anything?
The laser still works great but at the same time I don’t really have that many hours on the tube, if I added up all my hours on the glowforge for my projects it really about 2 weeks or 336 hours on the machine and that’s only cause I learned everything in a short amount of time. But spaced out over time, I’ve owned the glowforge for about two years but only used it a few times over the two years cause I also do sublimation and vinyl, mugs , tumblers and clothing and make jewellery too.
But one thing I really like about the glowforge is you can do night stands in it .
Looks like you really got the settings dialed in. I never had the patience to deal with photo engraves on that scale.
That really looks great!
Have you seen all the new directions that have been added for the new Aura machines? They have materials available that does what vinyl is for but contains no vinyl, with particular ability to put on clothing and such. I was making jewelry from the 1970s onward, though gold went crazy and ruined the business. I moved on to many other crafts but often used them for jewelry.
If you wander through the catalog you can find many directions that folks have used their Glowforges to make jewelry.
I have also used thicker material to make carved reliefs, that can also take considerable time.
So there can be many places to explore beyond your excellent engraves.
