I like to make Stanley toppers. Mostly fun designs for me. Sometimes I’ll paint them. Does anyone seal the paint with anything?
I have painted quite a few acrylic parts. I use acrylic paint and I have never sealed it.
It doesn’t get handled a lot, it is a wall decoration, but I have never had any issues with the paint coming off.
Ditto - nail polish is a great source for all sorts of colours in acrylic
I too use eiher acrylic paint or nail polish enamel for painting on acrylic. Also regular rattle-can spray paint.
I did some black acrylic badges a while back with engraving painted gold and just sealed them with a clear, spray-on polyurethane. Depending on the look you’re going for, can do glossy, satin or matte. They were grill badge mounts for cars, so exposure to the elements was my main reason for coating them. Anything indoor would be fine without sealing i’d think, depending on how much it’s being handled. We did another set of badges more recently and put a thin layer of epoxy resin over the paint as well. Definitely seals but takes a bit longer so it was a test of patience!
