Made a couple of ornaments yesterday. Sublimated on the white acrylic after cutting. I was a little off on lining up the sublimation print. Used glitter HTV for the star.
Came out great—love the personalization! Did you use Cuttle?
The tree does look familiar.
I love the snowmen! If I’m going to sublimate a design that doesn’t have a bleed past the edges, I add an offset outline around the whole thing, that’ll be maybe a tenth of an inch or two bigger than the object I’m sublimating on. Then I can center the object within that outline on the paper before securing it with heat tape and know the design will transfer centered on the object as well.
I used Silhouette Cameo Business software. Used the shapes for the star, drew the snowman with circles and added a red scarf … but then had to add snowflakes, grabbed the hat from one place and the arms from another.
I should have cut these out with an offset on the Silhouette, but somehow thought it would be easier to line a snowman up. I made a bad call!
These are so darling!
These are absolutely delightful…really enhanced with the sublimation. I love them!
They’re really lovely. I like the effect of sublimating on acrylic a lot, but I have trouble not getting fingerprints in the softened acrylic.
I’ve only done a little on acrylic, and I use the butcher paper to lift it out of the press. Put it under a heavy book to cool prior to removing the paper.
The thing I haven’t solved is getting it not to lose the shine of acrylic. Not sure if it’s the time and temp, or if it will just always lose the shine. A larger piece I did had kept most of the shine. I couldn’t find my note on my settings though.
I think they look great! The little bit of extra white space around the scarf and arms gives an illusion of motion.
Look so good! This type of work amazes me. I’ve been scared to try it.
Both from a how hard is it. But then fear of oh that wasn’t as bad as I thought. Now what else can I sublimate!
Both are really simple designs to do. The only thing that took time was choosing fonts and arranging them.
