Photo Engraving on Painted Aluminum (pieces of an old planetarium dome)

I have some pieces of an old planetarium dome (the holes are to let the sound from the speakers and the air from the ventilation system through the dome) that are aluminum I wanted to engrave something space-related on them. I chose the picture of starman in the tesla roadster from SpaceX. I stripped the existing paint off spray painted it black. Since engraving would make the material lighter I inverted colors on the picture then engraved it full speed full power. I also hit it with a gloss clear coat after that really brought out the contrast and made it look 10X better. I made a video of the whole process here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feeEDd-kJJo
