Plastic Nametags

Going off a post from user ddhill in February 2020, a person I’m working with found the ExcelMark Blank nametags ( Amazon.com" ) and wants to use them for her project. I asked her to confirm that they aren’t made with PVC, as her original selection was, but the seller only keeps repeating that they are made with “UV Stable Plastic”. Does anyone have any idea whether that translates to a material that’s safe to use on a Pro? I don’t have anyone who can engrave my coffin lid, either from poison gas or from my supervisor killing me because I destroyed the Glowforge. Thanks for any help!

I’d be leary of anything plastic where I just get a runaround answer.
Have you scrubbed Johnson plastics well? They have a great variety and everything is clearly marked as to which tools are appropriate.

I agree with above. If you can’t get a definitive answer, then I recommend avoiding it.

Get the “person you are working with” to do the legwork. You need an MSDS if the composition isn’t clearly stated.

There are about seven different major types of plastics, some are fine, some are unsuitable because they do not cut or engrave well, and some are completely incompatible because they produce dangerous or damaging fumes.
