Pocket knife attempt

Made this knife and engraved on it then washed out the engraving. It was to light

Then I added some stain and it was to dark the. Sanded the top and here is the last result, might be a touch dark still:

That looks beautiful. Your could flood the engrave with black paint, and or bleach wash the wood that’s not engraved to make it even lighter

Huh, I kinda like the “too light” version. I’d expect it to darken up a bit during use so starting lighter would be a benefit.

Turned out really nice. The design is really great on the wood.

I agree. It will get darker as it ages, and I like the lighter more. I would add clear acrylic paint to slow down the darkening.
