I have not shared my work for quite some time. I made this Pokémon chess set for my 28 year old son who lives 600 miles away. Due to the COVID virus, I have not physically seen him in over a year. This took me 1-1/2 weeks to make. Credits go to Thingaverse for the 3D files and Pokémon for the images. The set is 20”x20”x5”. I had to do it in a lot of sections. I can’t wait til he sees it.
That looks amazing! Did you coat the surface in resin?
Wow nice work, and dedication. The 3d printing must have taken quite a while.
That looks amazing-nicely done!!!
Looks awesome
Yes, I used resin. I was afraid if I did not protect it somehow that the etching would peel off in spots.
It did. My Drexel 3D 45 printer has single roll filament, so support material was a nightmare! Many evenings spent cursing while pulling out support material😆
Wow!! Now that is too cool!
My son would love something like that too.
You did an amazon amazing job!
He’s gonna love it. Hopefully you’ll get to see him soon, safely.
What a terrific chess set. I hope you have lots of time playing chess with your son in person very soon.
Amazing even!
Oops…
Yup, spell check keeps giving me carp as well
Very awesome! I love the design!
Herculean even!
I am sure this is going to be a prized possession. So well done.
Thank you so much.
Distance from our loved ones has been really tough. What an amazing gift! Hope he has an idea of how much time you put into this. Really fantastic.
