Poly cutting boards

Has anyone ever engraved on a poly cutting board?
I’d it safe? How did it turn out? What settings did you use? etc.

I haven’t. As long as the “poly” means “polypropylene” and not “polyvinyl” then it should be safe. I did a quick google search and found this as the first hit. It doesn’t deal with quality or settings, but it does talk about safety.

Yeah, sounds like I can’t use it…
Thanks!

This is really for the benefit of others reading this thread, but engraved cutting boards should be for decoration only - unless you only use the reverse side for food prep/presentation.

So despite some plastics being suitable, why would you bother with something like this? Stick to Bamboo or similar interesting woods.

It would still be for wall hanging, decoration only, if I could have used it.
