Possible to use 4G connection via tablet?

I realize that the GF operates via wireless only. I’d like to know if it can connect to a tablet via wireless router, and utilize that tablet’s 4G connection to connect to the cloud. Or would it be something more roundabout, like the tablet creating a hotspot which the GF connects to? Seems like the former option would be superior if possible.

I believe that any reasonable path that gets the Glowforge access to the internet should work. At the very least, the direct tablet hotspot → Glowforge will work as indicated by @dan here:

Glowforge requires a wifi connection. It will work with a wired-to-wifi converter, and with cellular internet adapters like the MiFi device and cell phone hotspots. It’s also resistant to internet outages and works with slow bandwidth (if the connection drops, it finishes what it’s doing and then pauses).

It would actually be easiest turning on your tablet’s wifi hotspot, if available. Less monkeying around with trying to connect a wireless router and using your tablet as the gateway. One less point of failure for networking. Less is better.
