Practical Cut... Angel Tree Topper Base

Well I finally got to fire up BEAMER and make a serious practical cut. I know you all have read my comments griping about not getting to 'forge very often. well That got to change yesterday! The Angel my wife wanted on top of the tree wasn’t really designed to do that. Last year I had cable tied rods to the tree to hold her up there. Very precarious to say the least. this year I realized it was time for an upgrade. I used BEAMER to make inserts for the pvc pipe. the rectangle holes are for the pieces that keep it aligned and the 3 holes around the edge are for the 3 steel rods that are cable tied to the “trunk” of the tree. and you can how she sits right in place. NO WOBBLING.

Beautiful tree, great practical design. I’m glad you got to fire up BEAMER even if just briefly.

Thanks, that right there is a costco tree from nearly 6 years ago.

Got it when we moved into this house.

Excellent job on that! You’ll appreciate the effort every year when you put the tree up.

Oh, sweet! That tree will be very well dressed, once it gets its skirt on.

Clever and useful! I love seeing different ways of incorporating the third dimension into laser stuff.

thanks, now at least I have a way to handle any “new” topper going forward. and that’s a huge plus.

Great job. We have a Hallmark ‘stained glass’ (acrylic) angel as a tree topper (bought it in 1980, our 1st Christmas) but it needs to be lit and I still can’t figure out how.

what about a small LED bulb? could be powered from a wall wart.

Brilliant!

I read that as “worry wart,” then read it again as “wall art.” Welp, third time’s the charm!

thanks for the chuckle. Cannot count the times I misread something in that same fashion.

Adafruit might have just what you need.

I forgot- the main issue is we have so many ornaments that the tree revolves, so lighting is even more complex.

Wow, we have lots of ornaments. but there isn’t a rotating tree in the future.
