Practical Cut: Camera Mount

I had a tiny GitUp sport camera I wanted to mount on various bits of photo equipment, but it didn’t come with any kind of mounting case. Long story short, some 1/8 plywood and craft foam, along with a bit of Glowforgery and…

It’s just a basic makerCase box, lined with a bit of craft foam to make things fit snug. I added cutouts so I can still get to all the buttons and ports while it’s in the case. However, it is pretty quick to just push it out the back if I need to have the camera free of the mount. The fit is nice and snug.

Perfect. See, that’s what gives me the biggest thrill, creating a solution. Same with my 3D printer, Fixtures, and brackets. I have yet to print a figurine.

Great project! Agree that practical projects are best.

Very clever and useful. I am positive we will have spin-offs of this concept.

It’s one of the coolest things about maker tech: I don’t have to order one, I can make one. I can make exactly what I want. Heady stuff.

Yeah, I remember @dan saying to his wife ‘You notice the kids are asking us to make them something instead of buy them something?’
