Am I the only one thinking James is going to “toast” his employees?
It’s a bit selfish too. They won’t get any work done down there, they can’t stop any damage that they’ve not already prevented (no boards left in the stores for boarding up windows). Best to get safely out of Dodge, take it easy in a hotel on our dime, do some work and wait until next week or so to see how their houses fared.

Very good points. At least this way, they are safe and you might get some work out of them.
And they’re not tempted to stay because they don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars or even more on hotels & meals. We pay that when we bring people in to the home office anyway so it’s not a big difference for us why we have them back - we’re just altering the timing of the trip. It’s a win-win.
