Ok…so im trying to create a new project in illustrator by using the Hawaiian islands, creating an offset for the background to connect them and then I wanted to fill the space with a design to engrave. but everytime I do what everyone says, it uploads into the glowforge app with the full picture instead of just the shape filled part. WHAT DO I DO?!? Ive been struggling with it for a day and a half now.
Easiest thing to do is get it looking the way you want it in Illustrator, then rasterize the clipping path with the pattern filled outline to turn it into a bitmap engrave. Glowforge doesn’t recognize clipping masks or patterns without conversion.

And if you want a few people to look at it you can upload the file if you’re comfortable doing that.
