glowforge pro fails to correctly cut the proofgrade medium draftboard
All the normal troubleshooting steps checked off?
- lenses clean
- Material flat
Any other information you care to share? One time or consistently? One particular sheet or every sheet? One particular design or every design? At every place in the bed or at one particular spot? Throughout the cut or only at the end of the cut?
It’s hard to know how to help without any particulars, but here are some general things that might help. Personally, any time I have a problem the first things I do are the two @marmak3261 mentioned:
-
Make sure the material is completely flat against the crumb tray via liberal use of magnets and/or honeycomb pins
-
Clean the lenses: https://glowforge.com/support/topic/cleaning-service-and-moving/cleaning#things-that-need-wiping
If those don’t fix the problem, then look here:

To save you a couple of reply-response cycles with support, you may want to follow the troubleshooting steps outlined here (especially the list at the end of the page): https://glowforge.com/support/topic/troubleshooting/cut-didnt-go-through-material
They will also ask you to measure the thickness of the draftboard nearest to the Gift of Good Measure test cut (see link above) with a set of digital calipers (if you have them).
Best of luck.
Thank you all for your help!
@atarrayaworks, I’m sorry your prints aren’t cutting all the way though.
Please follow the steps in the troubleshooter and post the results of the Gift of Good Measure.
Thanks in advance!
It’s been a little while since I’ve seen any replies on this thread so I’m going to close it. If you still need help with this please either start a new thread or email support@glowforge.com.
