Question bout cutting/engraving rubber

Does anyone know if it is safe to cut/engrave silicone rubber? How about SBA or Neoprene? I understand other things make be mixed in, but I am asking about 100% pure rubber.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

(Most often, silicone Apple Watch bands.)

Neoprene: probably not.

I have no idea about lasering the Small Business Administration.

lol thanks for the info.
I meant to type Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)

Just for laughs I did ask Chat GTP about all of these materials and was told all were safe …

Ah. I have no idea about that one. Maybe someone who knows will see this.

That’s the key there. I have seen some ChatGPT transcripts where it tells people to do things that will likely kill them.

On the 11th ChatGPT was reporting the Super Bowl had played the day before and San Francisco won 34-28.

Generative AI apps don’t have a concept of “truth”, just what it’s consumed in training content upon which it can extrapolate to create answers to questions.

ABS is Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene and that’s just fine in a laser, and rubber’s just fine so you’re likely good to go on that.

Definitely not to be relied on for facts but it sure can take my jumble of words and turn it in to a great cohesive explaination. …at least most if the time. Lol
