So I wanted to start a thread on random unique laser materials/ items. Here are some laser engravable items that I got. They are sold from xTool but you can get some from Amazon and other places as well. If you have other unique items that you thought were cool please share them and what they look like. The pens are cool but got to make sure they are shorter phrases as the light fades on the edges of long words.

As for unique, I’m a fan of seashells.
This kind of thread goes way back, here’s one from 2015 if you never saw it.
The most interesting part of that thread is that it was mostly theoretical — almost nobody had a laser at that point.

Is PU leather laser-safe? I had read it releases hydrogen cyanide…

(Nearly) All Lasered materials release gases that you don’t want breathe. Good ventilation solves this problem. Hydrogen cyanide (if polyurethane releases it when lasering) shouldn’t damage your machine so it’s as laser safe as anything.

Heh yeah videos aren’t my preferred way to learn, but this one shows the light up pen in a way that would be hard to convey in writing.
