Re: Adding Inline fan & PVC hose

Since I live in an apartment, I am going to add an in-line fan asap. I want to use the PVC hose. However, I see that it comes in 10’ length.

Can I cut it into 2 pieces, at the lengths that I need? (I need shorter lengths, as my unit will be right next to the window, much like the GF owner in this video.)

For reference, my set-up will be similar to this GF owner’s (only my inline fan will be set on a table, rather than mounted to the wall)

You can definitely cut the hose - you’ll need heavy duty/wire snips of some sort because it’s very thick in the support structure.

you may want to tell your upstairs neighbor about it, they will get concerned with the burning smell coming from below…

Luckily I am in my own corner of the bldg, so no problems. It’s been working out great. I cut a hole in a thick clear acrylic panel, and attached
a clear pvc hose, so the aesthetic is nice as well.
