You could try using a very thin double-sided tape. As you already have files you can easily create ones to cut the tape to fit from a sheet. I cut some odd shapes out of a sheet of 3M 300 LSE tape without suffering any ill effects. I used it for a wood to wood bond; I do not know how well it will work on acrylic, but it will not be cheaper.
