Refurbished GlowForge Pro with original packaging materials + extras in Portland, Oregon

Hello everyone!

Our non-profit (501c3) charity, Karmic Project, has decided to sell our GlowForge Pro that was recently refurbished. This was a machine that we purchased on eBay that only had 10 hours on it, but the seller didn’t pack it with the orange “special bits” and it arrived damaged. We had the unit professionally refurbished and can provide receipts for all the parts purchased and guarantee it is in very close to new condition now.

We’d prefer someone local come check it out and pick it up in person, but have the original packaging materials, including orange bits, to safely ship it to any place in the continental USA. Buyer to pay actually shipping costs w. insurance from Portland, Oregon, 97206.

Refurbishment included:

  • All new pulleys throughout the machine
  • New belts for the gantry (sides) and print head (back and forth)
  • New laser tube with only 3 hours of use (for testing)
  • Lid repaired with epoxy so the glass will never come off the hinges again
  • New lid ribbon cables for camera and lights
  • Cleaning of optical path including polishing of any scratched surfaces
  • Cosmetic repairs to the case and front pass-through flap

We also now have some spare parts that were purchased for the refurbishment that ended up not being necessary as well. We can include these with the purchase or are open to selling them separately.

These include:

  • Main power supply - turned out our original unit was fine (issue was coolant shorting out the HV circuit, not the power supply)
  • 2x Front Carriage plate pulleys with bearings
  • Print head assembly
  • Print head lens + magnetic removal tool
  • Print head mirror
  • Print head window (laser input)

Asking $3500 for everything (+shipping if needed) and we will change the title of this post to say SOLD once it’s no longer available.

I wish you luck in selling everything but I’m sad because you’re closing down. The entire maker community is lessened when a Makerspace shuts down.

The one I taught at in CT merged with another more commercially/business oriented incubator Makerspace just before I moved to NC. They gave everyone a free year of membership in the new one but the type of community was different and before the year was out the original folks had all drifted away. I hope your members can find somewhere to call Maker-home.

Here is a recent project we just did on the refurbished machine. The power actually was higher than expected with the new tube.
