Next time you do this, if you want to make sure it’s properly centered, try throwing a piece of paper in your glowforge and cutting out the shape of the tile. Then lay the tile in that spot, and etch. That will act as a jig/reference point for your cut.

I use a piece of cardboard held down by magnets when I’m not being lazy. Cut out a tile shaped hole, done.
That way, the tiles have something to sit in that keeps them aligned.
