Ripley from Alien costume

I have posted different parts of the journey to this final costume, but figured I would try to compile them all into one post.

Here’s the final look:

Flight suit is my father’s from his days in the Air Force.
Purchased replica patches off of Etsy.
Gun is just a cheap water gun that I took apart and painted.
I’ll add details on some of the other parts in separate posts below.

Chestburster 3D print file downloaded from Thingiverse. I did scale it up a bit since the original size seemed a little small. Added little paint and fake blood.

Outstanding, Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley! The hair really ties it together, too. Nailed it.

Alien is about tied for my favorite movie of all time.

Remarkable job on all of it. Gives me nightmares just thinking about that movie! I used to like watching it, now I just get too tense. Guess I’m getting too old - I’d rather watch something light and funny. Except Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Star Trek…

Saw this in passing last week. A lot less effort went in to this Alien themed costume. But I’m afraid I still have to say it’s the winner.

That facehugger mask is pretty amazing! Very nice job on the leather.
