Rubber band car I designed a while ago.
No instructions on how to put together ;). Works well, I would put wax between all the gears, makes it run a lot better. Also not so good on hardwood floors, although I imagine could put rubber bands around the main wheels.

From the old days before drawer glides, we used a bar of soap to lubricate wood-on-wood.

Either one would work well.
Someone recommended soap above as an option for wood-on-wood lubricant.
But I read this as putting wax between the ears… I always thought it was best to clean that wax out.
