I’d like to make some cut out mats to put in my tool box to organize my tools so they don’t slam around every time I open and close my drawers. I think the material needs to be about 10mm (3/8") thick to be effective for most of my tools. Those that need thicker sections, I can just cut out 2 pieces and layer them. Does anyone know of a good material that is laser safe for this?

Hah, not fancy, just effective and cheap :). Any favorite places you like to source this material?
Did we decide about whether EVA foam/ craft foam zaps?

If you are referring to the rubber interlocking floor mats (like Harbor Freight Mats ), you should be able to do it.
That material in chlorine free.
