Hi, I am trying to sell my GlowForge but not having much success. I got hurt at work and lost my job and I’m having a hard time getting bills paid. Haven’t used it very much and I’m really needing money. It’s just not working for me.
Sorry to hear of your situation.
It may help to include when your Glowforge was originally purchased, where it is located, whether or not you will ship it and how much you are asking for it.
The Performance Series (Basic/Plus/Pro) sell for around $1000 on eBay. If you have an older Basic, less than that. The newer the better. Past around $1200 you’re unlikely to get bids, or much interest on Facebook Marketplace if you list it there.
Thank you
I think you’re spot on. The market for these is either an existing owner looking for another machine in the GF ecosystem or a newbie who doesn’t want to pay the $6K for new stuff and is willing to take the risk of no support or affordable repair options.
The comparable pricing metric isn’t what it cost new or what a new GF would cost but the price of any number of other manufacturers who offer more for less than GF.
It’s getting to the point that they’re only going to be worth using for parts. You might get more by parting it out. A few easily removed parts might be an option - like the print head, lid, power supply, crumb tray, maybe something else in there. The rest of it is landfill fodder.
