I bought this laser to use for upcycling goods for resale. The laser works really well, but it’s better used with proofgrade and new materials so I don’t use it frequently enough to justify the space.
I purchased the glowforge plus and air filter in 2020. I have the box and could box it up for pickup, but I don’t think the box is in good enough condition for shipping. I can order a shipping box for $250. It would take more time but I’m happy to do so for a serious buyer.
New costs Pro $5,999 and filter $1,295.
I’ll include any pro materials that I have. I would estimate I’ve used half of the current air filter’s capacity (about 50 hours) at most. So the filter should have 50 hours left.
I’m happy to answer any questions and open to reasonable offers and driving places surrounding Indianapolis.
Looking for $2000 for pro, filter, and materials.
Unfortunately, despite what they may want you to believe, you can’t judge the life of a filter on hours used. 50 hours of cutting acrylic is different than cutting 50 hours of hardwood, and drastically different than 50 hours of engraving MDF. Filters themselves tend to be a bit of a niche market on here, as most people find a way to vent directly outdoors.
I wish you luck, and you should be able to move the GF at least fairly easily.
Thank you for your insights!
I would worry that venting outdoors without a filter is still kind of unhealthy? But I’m not sure!
Can I visually tell if the filter has much life left? Or is it just a gamble?
Maybe if you stick your nose in the exhaust and breathe in. Really for most materials it’s the odor and particulates that matter for indoor use. Venting outdoors pushes those out into somewhere with a huge volume of air available to disperse both the odors and particulates.
