As with most of the stuff I make, this obviously wasn’t made solely on the glowforge. I used it to create the nameplate (I obscured the name in the photo since the award hasn’t been presented yet) and the walnut pieces that support the nameplate. The plate is brass plate with a coat of Cermark to engrave the text.
That brass plate is awesome. Actually, the whole award is perfect. Well done.
This is great! I love the design of the light itself and I’m glad to see how well Cermark works on the brass plate. I’ve had a project in mind for a long time now that involves marking on brass.
As always, your work is a delight to see.
This is just a beautifuly made piece. Outstanding!
Someone is going to be a very happy awardee!
Thanks everyone. I was trying to come up with something that was more than the usual wall plaque, something that represented the museum. FYI, the cermark was engraved on the brass at 600/full/225lpi.
What a beautiful award! Very thoughtfully done! The recipient (along with everyone else) will be very impressed.
