I need a new Carriage Plate, but the shipping is almost the price of the carriage plate… It doesn’t make sense. Aren’t there less expensive options Glowforge Support ? I wanted to include some flat cables just in case, but that’s ridiculous.

Yeah, that’s been an issue from the start sadly. I know some folks use one of the companies where you ship it to them on the border and they bring it across - but I don’t know if the end price is just as bad.

Why do you need a new carriage plate? The wheels, the belt…?

Normally, shipping is per time, so a dozen things could ship for the same price as one of them, so in most such cases I get a number of pieces to spread out the costs.

No I think it’s a Glowforge thing. I’ve had other companies ship stuff for much much less and some even free.

It’s actually the assist fan connector (on the pcb side).
