Nice work Jeremy! Having spent seven semesters as an unofficial ceramics major after I retired, I can certainly appreciate the skill you have developed. Wheel work ain’t easy!
I always appreciate function! (Nothing worse than buying something that just doesn’t live up to the hype.)
Lovely work! Thank you for sharing it
That worries me as well. I was scared that I might have been suffering from conformation bias on this but every beta tester I have given one uses more hyperbole to describe it than I do so I think I am on to something.
Thanks @marmak3261 ! I rented time on a local kiln. Not exactly convenient, but it got the job done. I have a friend who has one of the largest wood kilns in Canada that I would eventually like to use.
Thanks @fan-of-glowforge ! Wheel work definitely isn’t easy… And a treadle wheel even harder. But so much fun
ah, you know, i forgot to think in 3d lol
Beautiful work! I especially love the blues in the coffee mug and vase. Very nice indeed!
Thanks @MiniMouse
All of you creative people truly rock! I am a scientist and am in constant awe of the talent you display.
Beautiful work! I love working with paper. Usually just cards for my wife, but I enjoy every minute of the process. Thanks for sharing.
OK, I have been mostly lurking here, and liking everything, thought I might as well put up a bit of our handiwork. Don’t have pictures of everything we have made but here are some that I could dig up.
One of three valances I built for our bedroom: copper highlights, selective staining on solid birch.
A few of the trays we have made as gifts and for ourselves. much of the artwork was borrowed from calendars or found royalty free online, we did the wire and copper, all finished with two part pour on resin.
And a small box (Purchased at Michaels or Joanne ETC) finished and then embedded an image on top with the same pour on resin.
Finally, Deb has been doing some stained glass work recently, here’s one we have hanging in our kitchen window.
We definitely have ideas to use the Glowforge as a major player in some or all of these kinds of projects (and many more) in the future!
Spectacular!
Those trays are gorgeous! Love that valence too! That’s some great work!
Wow…so nice!
Those are so awesome. I really like the way that the trays turned out. I would like to make something like that sometime. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Great work.
Very nice!
I really like the combination of wood/metal. Those trays are neat! I have never tried that type of resin application. Fiberglass?
Thanks for adding yours to our collection!
No, it was the two part stuff meant to pour on tabletops and the like. I believe it was actually called “Pour-On”, we got it at Michael’s, if I remember correctly. I looked it up at one point to find out if it’s laserable and while I think I found out it doesn’t contain much dangerous stuff, it is a thermoplastic, and near as I can tell, those don’t cut or engrave nicely.
Stunning work! The stained glass work especially takes my breath away. Love it!!!
