Simplified gift tags

A simplified version of @cynd11’s gift tags is sinfully easy to make and looks great, without any painting:

  • 2 layers Proofgrade walnut veneer w/adhesive
  • 1 layer Mother-of-pearl veneer w/adhesive
  • 1 layer Maple veneer (no adhesive)

Only problem is… I hesitate to use them, because I don’t want to upstage the actual gift!

BTW, if you don’t want to “shell out” the bucks for the mother-of-pearl veneer, a cheap alternative is to print out a photo of it and use that.

Excellent idea! I didn’t make any special tags this year—everybody gives them back to me to re-use and I have more than I need.

Engrave the year on the back, and use paper to put the recipients’ name and you’ve got a 2nd gift as an ornament!

Those are beautiful :heavy_heart_exclamation:

These are so pretty! I love them as ornaments as well! I love the idea of printing out the mother of pearl on paper. I actually have several “prints” that I plan on using as backgrounds - I just haven’t figured out for what yet. But the idea of using them as stained glass is fabulous!

This might be a great spot to use old cards you’ve received too!
